Simple forms & approvals: low-code first — Power Apps + Power Automate if you're on Microsoft 365, or Retool / AppSheet
Business-critical or complex: React + TypeScript + PostgreSQL/Supabase with role-based access and Row Level Security
Sign-in: single sign-on with Microsoft Entra ID or Google so staff use their work accounts
Must-haves: audit logs, exports to Excel/PDF, mobile-friendly screens for field staff

Why: low-code is fastest for simple workflows; custom code pays off when logic is complex (overtime rules, payroll) or many people use it daily.
