Where should I host my website or app?
Match hosting to the project:
- Websites & front ends: Vercel, Netlify or Cloudflare Pages — global CDN, HTTPS, free tiers
- APIs & full apps: Vercel/serverless functions for light back ends; AWS, Azure or Google Cloud for full control and enterprise needs
- Databases: managed services (Supabase, AWS RDS, Azure Database) — backups and updates handled for you
- VPS (e.g. a Linux server): cheapest for steady workloads, but you handle updates, security and backups
Why: managed platforms trade a little cost for far less maintenance and downtime.
